Description

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) North Ecliptic Pole (NEP) Time-Domain Field (TDF) is located within JWST's northern Continuous Viewing Zone, and is centered on:

Celestial coordinates: (RA, Dec)J2000 = (17:22:47.896, +65:49:21.54) = (260.6995667, +65.8226500) deg
Galactic coordinates: (lII, bII) = (95.8394794, +33.6057280) deg

It was selected (Jansen & Windhorst 2018) to be the cleanest region of >14′ in diameter for extragalactic time-domain surveys with JWST that would be observable by JWST at any day of the year and, in the course of a year, at any orientation, while having the lowest possible zodiacal background.
